'Chapel A House Concerts' is an enterprise supporting Christians making their way in the music industry
Some people have cinemas in their gardens, Alan seems to have a concert hall (like a big garage), sponsored by donations from ordinary people. The idea of the gig is that you give a donation to reserve a seat, then the artists gets all the money collected (unlike a pub, where they might play several hours and end up earning nothing). Adrian Greaves has been inviting me to these for ages and I finally gave in, as the last artist was Polish - Kari (ethereal indie pop), who's band mates turned out to be old friends of Ian and Liz Harden. Artist and musical quality was excellent (and not too loud), especially considering limited equipment, with the space giving a lovely 'acoustic' vibe (might get a bit warm in the summer). In the break, home-cooked Afro-carribean food was available in the house.... I have already booked my seat for the next one, as I only got standing room
