At the end of May, we are going to be joining in with Thy Kingdom Come a prayer initiative started by the Archbishop of Canterbury. This is a global wave of prayer calling all Christians to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus. As a church, we are going to be pledging to pray for our friends and community, in particular those living in LS6, to come to know Jesus. We will also be joining with South Parade to hold a special prayer event on the evening of 2nd June to which all Headingley churches will be invited and on the 9th June there is the opportunity to join with a city-wide event hosted by Bridge Community Church.  Here are the full details:

‘Thy Kingdom Come’

An evening event hosted by South Parade Baptist Church
Sunday 2nd June, 6:30 - 8pm

This is a special opportunity for the churches of Headingley to stand together as God’s people and pray ‘Thy Kingdom come’ for this community. We will meet for an evening service at which South Parade minister, Peter Morden, will be preaching and the Vineyard musicians leading worship. This will be followed by a time of praying out on the streets for His Kingdom to come. We will finish with refreshments at South Parade church. Let’s come together to demonstrate our commitment to pray for and show God’s love in Headingley!

Global Day of Prayer

A prayer event hosted by Bridge Community Church
Sunday 9th June, 6 - 8:30pm

This is a citywide gathering as part of the ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ initiative and a fantastic opportunity to pray, with many other churches in Leeds, both for Leeds and for the nations. Leeds Vineyard has been invited to help lead part of the evening and it would be wonderful to have you along to support this event!

Praying for 5

30th May - 9th June

At the heart of the Thy Kingdom Come initiative is the desire to see people come to know Jesus. We are encouraged to choose five people to pray for over the 11 days asking that they would encounter Jesus and find faith. There is even a ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ app you can download to alert you to pray!

Praying for LS6

30th May - 9th June

As well as praying for friends, we want to ask God for the people living in the areas where we worship to increasingly come to faith. With this in mind, Leeds pastors have agreed together to try to pray for every postcode in Leeds! Leeds Vineyard is going to pray for LS6. Growth groups will be invited to pray for a portion of LS6 and be part of the vision for every street in Leeds to be prayed for over this time.
