Following Jesus Every DAY Web

Following Jesus every day is a wonderful adventure and we are all invited. We long to encounter God’s presence daily and grow in our life with Him. But how do we do that? How do we pray and seek His presence? What does it look like, to have a life that is inspired and strengthened by Jesus, every day?

This booklet is designed to help you with that. It gives a few ideas of ways you can place yourself before God every day, to encounter Him. As we do that, we are transformed from the inside out and we begin to change. We see the Holy Spirit changing us and influencing us in our everyday life.

If you would like a copy of the booklet please collect one at Sunday Gathering or email office@leedsvineyard.org and we will post you one for free.

The booklet outlines three spiritual practices that are designed to use at the start, middle and end of the day. The three practices spell the word DAY.

Devote yourself to God

Ask God for his presence and provision throughout the day

Yield to God at the end of the day

There are some wonderful Bible reading plans that you can access here from the Bible Project. You could read the Gospels, or read the books that we will be following in 2024: Matthew (specifically Sermon on the Mount), Hebrews and Daniel.

If you would find having access to the Bible on your phone or smart tablet helpful, then the Bible App or Bible Gateway are completely free to use.

Ask

You could pray the Lord’s Prayer, or look at 24/7 Prayer for more ideas to help you pray.

The Examen video from Dan Wilt and Belfast Vineyard is a good resource for finishing the day in prayer and reflection. Another helpful resource is pray-as-you-go.org and the Examen cards from VCUKI.

You may want to check out some of our previous teaching series called Follow Me that gives some helpful ideas about what it looks like to follow Jesus.
