VH STEPS Banner v2

Sunday 19 May is the launch for STEPS 2019 when we will once again sow for a harvest.
Sunday 9 June is the thanksgiving when we will bring our gifts to God.

2017

Isaiah 61:4a “They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated.”
In 2017 the church community gave sacrificially, generously, staggeringly – over £300,000 - which enabled us to buy Vineyard House. It may not be a "ruin" but it is definitely in need of rebuilding, repair and restoration!

We think that the Lord clearly guided us to step out in faith and “sell all we had in order to buy the hidden treasure” (Matthew 13:44). So we now own the building and have begun to use it. We sowed generously and we reaped generously.

2019 - And now we believe that God has given us something more spectacular and influential to do in Vineyard House. A kingdom endeavour which will transform the community in Headingley.

We have come to the next phase of the Vineyard House STEPS Project. To renovate the property. Our vision is for a beautiful and sensitive restoration providing state of the art resources with which the church can reach out into the community. As we have said from the beginning, this is a “million-pound miracle project” so we have been hugely encouraged by a timely reminder:

“Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.” Hudson Taylor.

Having arrived at the next fund-raising stage – we are looking forward to seeing how God will supply. First and foremost this is a Vineyard project so, on 19 May 2019 we opened up the opportunity for the church community to sow into this transformative mission. On 9 June 2019 we will gather again to bring our gifts and celebrate what God has done.

If you can't join us on 9 June please email
giving@leedsvineyard.org with your instructions or post the pledge form to the office beforehand.

In 2 Corinthians 9:6-15 Paul encourages us to be generous,

Remember this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written:

‘They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures for ever.’

Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.  You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

In 2017 we sowed generously and we reaped generously. Now, in 2019 we have the opportunity to do so again. Some will want to give once more, some were unable to give last time and would love to do so now. Many, many of you have arrived in the last two years and want the chance to get in on this “million pound miracle”!

Once we have completed STEPS 2019 we will be able to invite other funders and charities to support us and demonstrate that the pump has been primed, the seed already planted.
